I want to share practical advice concerning washing clothes made from synthetic fabric. It's a small life hack that will protect our oceans and our own health.
When washed, all clothes containing polyester or any other fibre that's not natural will leave tiny microplastic fibres in the wastewater. The plastic particles continue out in or ocean and, in the long run – in the tissue of marine animals.

But the good part is that you can easily prevent this emission; by washing your synthetic clothes in a bag like https://en.guppyfriend.com/. You stuff all your synthetic laundry in the bag and then wash it together.

If you are unsure whether your clothes are made from synthetic fibre, check the care label and look for the most commonly used ones, like polyester (also recycled polyester), polyamide, and lyocell, to mention a few.

If you find this relevant, look at the brand Houdini's work in this field. Here you can also buy the washing bag I refer to. To find out more, check the link below.
